Ufcw 8 Collective Bargaining Agreement

ROSEVILLE, CALIFORNIA. (April 27, 2020) – After a complex collective bargaining environment, UFCW 8-Golden State members voted overwhelmingly to ratify new agreements with supermarket chains Raley`s, Bel Air and Nob Hill during one of the most challenging periods in retail history. “Our members appreciate the value and security of this treaty, which would not be possible without continued solidarity with their Union,” UFCW 8-Golden State President Loveall said after the ratification votes were counted. The three-year agreements involve significant wage increases, funding for healthcare improvements without bonuses paid by active employees for their own healthcare – a rarity in the current supermarket sector. The new contracts also provide for the establishment of primary healthcare clinics throughout the EU Jurisdiction, with improved medical services for members at no cost. “With this role, companies have recognized the progress we have made in developing advanced health plans and our tireless work in reinventing healthcare,” said President Loveall. Other highlights of the contracts are: More details will only be released when the 4,400 UFCW 8-Golden State members of the three companies have the opportunity to review and ratify the provisional agreement. The vote will take place as part of a preliminary agreement between the parties last month.
